The IHU Liryc unveils the third installment of its scientific comic, dedicated to a key cardiology exam: the electrocardiogram (ECG). Through a visual and educational approach, this new comic helps to understand what ECG traces really reveal about the heart’s electrical activity.

What does an electrocardiogram really reveal?

While the ECG is a widely known exam, its interpretation often remains unclear to the general public.
This comic establishes a direct link between the ECG trace and the electrical phenomena occurring in cardiac cells, making normally invisible mechanisms visible.
Depolarization, repolarization, electrical signal propagation: these invisible processes become understandable here thanks to clear, progressive, and illustrated storytelling.

A scientific comic series to follow

Liryc continues its commitment to scientific outreach in cardiology. This new installment is part of a series of scientific comics created by Liryc to explore, month by month, different aspects of the heart and associated medical technologies:

  • Comic #1: The heart’s electrical system, the true conductor of the cardiac rhythm
  • Comic #2: Smartwatches and ECG recording
  • Comic #3: The link between the ECG trace and the electrical activity of cardiac cells

Each episode offers a complementary perspective to better understand the heart’s functioning, diagnostic tools, and innovations emerging from research.r

Comic #3 is available now

Liryc’s third scientific comic, focused on the electrocardiogram and the heart’s electrical language, is now available.
