Inventing the treatments of tomorrow

Transforming knowledge and promoting research

Liryc aims to transfer the knowledge it acquires to develop innovative technologies for the diagnosis or treatment of heart rhythm disorders.

Promoting research results means supporting a discovery, technology or skill to transform it into a new product on the market, for the direct benefit of patients around the world.

Through its technology transfer policy, Liryc surrounds itself with industrial partners and financial backers with the best assets to contribute to the optimization of its inventions, thereby fast-tracking their availability for the benefit of patients. Bringing out innovations is a long and costly process, which requires complementary resources to those available at the institute.

Bringing non-invasive and personalized therapies to life

Liryc’s ambition is not only to lead excellent research, but above all to use it as a basis for participating in the development of new treatments, by making the knowledge and skills of research entirely usable.

The innovations developed by Liryc mainly concern:

  • Electrophysiology catheters, their optimization for procedures, as well as for the innovative and interactive training of clinicians in their use.
  • Image-based software used during procedures to make them more efficient and safer.

What are our aims?

  • To develop less invasive, more precise and personalized diagnostic and care tools
  • To design prototypes and test the proof of concept
  • To identify and approve new pharmaceutical targets
  • To create simulators for training doctors and testing our technological innovations
  • To support researchers in the creation of startups dedicated to supporting future developments

An ecosystem of innovation

In terms of innovation, Liryc has built an innovation policy based on a strategy defined collectively. A strategic committee meets twice a year to set the strategic direction of this policy.

Integrated cooperation has been set up with local players, such as Aquitaine Science Transfert, to fast-track the innovation process.

Liryc, through its unique infrastructures, promotes relations between research teams, clinical teams and players in the economic world, including medical device, product or imaging manufacturers, large groups, startups and technology transfer players. This close collaboration enables the emergence of innovative projects to invent diagnostic tools, cutting-edge medical devices and therapies of the future.

As such, Liryc is part of an ecosystem that is particularly conducive to the development of medical innovations.
